Gibson Primary victorious in Euros Tournament

On Friday 31st May, Omagh High School organised a ‘Euros Football Tournament’ on Campsie Playing Fields for local Primary Schools in the area to participate in. There was a fabulous turnout for the event with schools from Omagh County Primary School, Gortin Primary School, Omagh Integrated Primary School, Gibson Primary School, and Richmond Primary School. The event was hotly contested with teams from all schools represented in the quarter finals after a gruelling group stage with two teams from Gibson Primary, a team from Gortin Primary and a team from Omagh County progressing to the semi-finals.

The final saw two sides from the same school, Gibson Primary School battle it out to be crowned Euros champions, 2024, where the winning team was presented with the Omagh High School Euros Trophy by Head of the P.E. Department Mr Rennie with the winner decided after a pulsating penalty shootout.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all of the schools who participated, to the staff members of the Primary Schools for facilitating their participation in the event and to the four chief organisers and referees on the day, Mr D. Rennie, Mr R. Clarke, Mrs S. Pauley, Mr M. Duffy and Mr C. Millar.
