Katie's Sporting Success
We are so incredibly proud of our very own Katie C, who won Gold in Singles Boccia and Silver in Mixed Doubles Boccia! This fantastic achievement means that Katie is now eligible to represent Ireland at the Special Olympics World Games in Chile. Year 11 Double Award Science Trip to An Creagán Centre
On Thursday 11th and Friday 12th June, the Year 11 Double Award Science classes visited the An Creagán Centre to carry out fieldwork investigations. During the trip, students were introduced to the peatland habitat and learned about its ecological importance. They also explored key topics such as biodiversity, habitats and species adaptation. Our Year 8 and Year 9 students have been working hard in English to raise money for the Cancer Fund for Children through a sponsored readathon. During their English lessons, students were sponsored to spend time reading for pleasure, combining their love of reading with support for a wonderful cause. Year 10 Public Speaking Competition
We were delighted to host our annual Year 10 public speaking competition in the English Department. Congratulations to all the participants for their excellent performances. Our adjudicators, Mr D Rennie and Mrs L Caldwell, had a difficult task deliberating due to the exceptionally high standard of candidates, but ultimately awarded first place to Hannah C, with joint second place going to Sarah McC and Emilia Q.

Army Elite Skills Programme Y10
Our Year 10 pupils took part in an Elite Skills programme organised by the Army, including a careers talk along with STEM and team-building activities. Despite a few rain showers, everyone had a really enjoyable morning.

Year 8 Tag Rugby Blitz
Darren McGuigan, Rugby Development Officer for Omagh Accies, hosted his annual Year 8 girls’ tag rugby blitz on Today at Campsie. Well done to Omagh High School, who competed against Omagh Academy (teams 1 and 2), Castlederg High School, Loreto Grammar School (teams 1 and 2), and Drumragh Integrated College. The team delivered strong performances, winning three matches, drawing two, and losing one. An excellent display of rugby skills throughout.

Topping Out Ceremony

World Cup Tournament
On Thursday 4th June 2026 15 teams from Primary Schools in the Omagh area competed for the top prize in a World Cup tournament on Campsie Playing Fields inspired by this summer’s FIFA men’s competition in USA, Canada and Mexico. Competing Primary Schools included Omagh County, Augher, Gortin, Langfield, Gibson, Dromore and Denamona. Scripture Union
Our Scripture Union had a fantastic visit from Rev. Abraham, who shared with pupils the inspiring story of William Tyndale and his translation of the Bible into English in 1525—marking the 500th anniversary of the Tyndale New Testament this year. Rev. Omagh High School hosted Limavady HS in the High Schools Shield semi-final
OHS got off to a flying start, going 10–0 up with tries from Henry W and Tilson McC. The team showed great determination against a strong, physical side to take that lead into half-time. Limavady responded early in the second half to narrow the gap, but Henry W crossed again to restore a 10-point advantage. Auchinleck House Wins the Senior House Cup!
Congratulations to Auchinleck House on their fantastic achievement in winning the Senior House Cup. To celebrate, pupils will enjoy a fun day out at Moira Lakes, taking part in activities such as stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking, and laser tag. On Thursday 12th March we hosted our Interview Skills Day for Year 12. The day started with Young Enterprise running a ‘You’re Hired’ session. Pupils learnt lots of valuable information about how to complete application forms and CVs, as well as lots of tips for interviews. Local RDA Centre
We were delighted to celebrate success at Omagh High School with our students who attend the local RDA centre. Our students were presented with their Grade 1 and Grade 2 Riding/horse care Proficiency Test certificates and badges, recognising their fantastic progress and dedication. "Journey to where" Exhibition
On Wednesday 4th of March our Year 8 pupils attended an exhibition on the Bible entitled “Journey to where” in the assembly hall. They were able to discover new information about the Bible and its meaning for Christians today complementing their work in the classroom. U16 Trophy Quarter Final
Our Under 16 Rugby team faced Fivemiletown in the U16 Trophy Quarter Final. Despite the challenging conditions, the team displayed some impressive rugby. Although they fell behind in the match, the boys showed great resilience and fought hard to the end.

Year 8 Futsal Tournament
Our Year 8 boys took part in a very competitive indoor futsal tournament at Omagh Leisure Centre. The boys battled fiercely throughout the group stages, defeating Erne Integrated and Omagh Academy, while narrowly losing out to St Kevin’s, Fivemiletown College, and Devenish College. Well done to the Year 8 boys, who performed, competed, and behaved exceptionally well on the day.

Our Year 9 netball team travelled to St John’s College, Dromore for the first round of the Tyrone & Fermanagh Netball Cup. U14 Football
On Thursday 29th January, Omagh High School travelled to Castlederg for the opening fixture of the McMullan Shield. Castlederg opened the scoring midway through the first half and took this lead into the break. The second half started in a similar fashion to the first, with OHS frustrating Castlederg with their shape and spirited attitude. Despite this, Castlederg scored three quick goals in the final period of the game to run out 4–0 winners. It was an excellent performance

Ulster Schools’ Cross Country Championships
Well done to Year 9 student Codi G, who braved tough weather conditions yesterday to compete in the Minor Girls category at the Ulster Schools’ Cross Country Championships at Mallusk Playing Fields. We also want to wish her all the best this Saturday as she represents her club in Dublin’s indoor athletics arena, taking on the 800m, long jump, high jump and the relay!

NI and Ulster Indoor Athletics Championships
A huge well done to Codi G in Year 9 who took place in NI and Ulster Indoor Athletics Championships on Saturday 21st February, held in Sports Ireland in Dublin. Codi competed in the 800m run, the long jump and the high jump. Codi also took part in the Strabane Triathlon 5K held in Lifford on Sunday 22nd February, where she finished 3rd in her age group.
