Retirement Celebrations
At the end of September, we said farewell to two highly valued members of staff here at Omagh High School, Mr W. Quigley and Mrs G. Quigley. Mrs Quigley devoted 38 years of outstanding service to Omagh High School and was a deeply respected and cherished colleague throughout her time here. Year 13 Geographers Take on Magilligan!
Last week, our Year 13 Geography students embraced the crisp autumn air during a fantastic two-day residential at Magilligan. From exploring the stunning landscapes of the Umbra, Binevenagh, and Mussenden Temple to getting hands-on with soil science, data analysis, and fieldwork inquiry. Farm Tour at AFBI Hillsborough
On Wednesday 1st October, our Year 12 GCSE Agriculture & Land Use class had the exciting opportunity to attend a Schools Open Day at the Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute (AFBI) Hillsborough. Students explored key areas of modern farming, including soil health, grassland management, and anaerobic digestion. They also got valuable insights into dairy production, as well as pig and poultry systems. A fantastic hands-on learning experience that brought classroom theory to life

Careers Networking Event
On Friday 19th September, our Careers Department hosted the annual Careers Networking Event for Years 10, 12, 13, and 14. We were thrilled to welcome over 20 local employers, public services, colleges, and universities, all eager to connect with our pupils, share insights into their industries, and discuss apprenticeships, courses, and career opportunities. Book Fair Success
Our Book Fair arrived last week and was a huge hit! Thanks to the incredible support from our pupils, an amazing £610 was spent — which means we’ve been able to claim nearly £250 worth of brand-new books to add to our school library! A massive thank you to everyone who made a purchase.
