"Journey to where" Exhibition
On Wednesday 4th of March our Year 8 pupils attended an exhibition on the Bible entitled “Journey to where” in the assembly hall. They were able to discover new information about the Bible and its meaning for Christians today complementing their work in the classroom. Thanks to the facilitators all pupils found the exhibition interesting and informative.

Equestrian Team

U16 Trophy Quarter Final
Our Under 16 Rugby team faced Fivemiletown in the U16 Trophy Quarter Final. Despite the challenging conditions, the team displayed some impressive rugby. Although they fell behind in the match, the boys showed great resilience and fought hard to the end.

Year 8 Futsal Tournament
Our Year 8 boys took part in a very competitive indoor futsal tournament at Omagh Leisure Centre. The boys battled fiercely throughout the group stages, defeating Erne Integrated and Omagh Academy, while narrowly losing out to St Kevin’s, Fivemiletown College, and Devenish College. Well done to the Year 8 boys, who performed, competed, and behaved exceptionally well on the day.

Year 10 Author Visit
We were delighted to welcome John Magee back to the English Department to lead an informative creative writing workshop with our Year 10 students. They gained valuable skills that will be a real asset as they progress next year to begin their GCSE English journey.

Year 9 Netball Cup Success!
Our Year 9 netball team travelled to St John’s College, Dromore for the first round of the Tyrone & Fermanagh Netball Cup. The girls showed excellent skills, teamwork, and determination throughout the day. They finished a fantastic 3rd place, earning a well-deserved spot in Round 2. U14 Football
On Thursday 29th January, Omagh High School travelled to Castlederg for the opening fixture of the McMullan Shield. Castlederg opened the scoring midway through the first half and took this lead into the break. The second half started in a similar fashion to the first, with OHS frustrating Castlederg with their shape and spirited attitude. Despite this, Castlederg scored three quick goals in the final period of the game to run out 4–0 winners. It was an excellent performance

Ulster Schools’ Cross Country Championships
Well done to Year 9 student Codi G, who braved tough weather conditions yesterday to compete in the Minor Girls category at the Ulster Schools’ Cross Country Championships at Mallusk Playing Fields. We also want to wish her all the best this Saturday as she represents her club in Dublin’s indoor athletics arena, taking on the 800m, long jump, high jump and the relay!

NI and Ulster Indoor Athletics Championships
A huge well done to Codi G in Year 9 who took place in NI and Ulster Indoor Athletics Championships on Saturday 21st February, held in Sports Ireland in Dublin. Codi competed in the 800m run, the long jump and the high jump. Codi also took part in the Strabane Triathlon 5K held in Lifford on Sunday 22nd February, where she finished 3rd in her age group. Year 10 pupil Maddie S and Year 8 pupils Lexi A and Emily W competed for Omagh Panthers on Saturday at the Millenium Forum in Belfast. Maddie’s team came first in their section and Lexi and Emily’s team came second. Very well done girls!

Strule Shared Education Campus Parents and Carers Information Sessions
Parents and carers are being invited to attend a series of information sessions about the Strule Shared Education Campus , taking place on Tuesday 17 th February at the Silverbirch Hotel . Our U14B Hockey Team put in a fantastic performance against Omagh Academy on Monday! 🏑 Great teamwork, impressive skill, and some brilliant saves from our keeper Grace A. 🏉 Under 16 Rugby 🏉
On Wednesday 19th November, Omagh High School made the trip to Limavady High School to play their final group stage game in Pool 5. The boys played some excellent rugby in the first half, taking them into a commanding position going into the second period. The game followed a similar pattern in the second half, with OHS being extremely dominant in all departments and eventually winning the game 43-0. Remembrance Day 2025 at Omagh High School
Omagh High School marked Remembrance Day with a poignant assembly centred on the theme “Remembering All Together.” Our entire school community contributed by creating paper poppies for a stunning display, each inscribed with personal reflections on remembrance. Future Climate Leaders in Action!
With COP30 taking place in Brazil this month, our Year 14 Geographers, Millie S and Blake D, stepped into the global spotlight at Belfast Castle. They joined over 80 students from 28 schools for a full simulation of the international climate change conference. Representing Egypt as part of the Developing Nations, both students showed incredible skill in negotiating and lobbying for deals to reduce global warming. Our U16 girls’ netball team travelled to Sacred Heart College on Friday 14th November for the Shield Final. Year 8 Trip to Scarlett Thread Exhibition – St Columba’s Church, Omagh
Our Year 8 students had a fantastic visit to the Scarlett Thread exhibition at St Columba’s Church of Ireland in Omagh. They explored the stories behind the books of the Bible and admired the incredible craftsmanship on display, each piece representing a different book in a creative and thoughtful way. Remembrance Sunday
Representatives from our school community Head Boy Dillon E, Head Girl Sarah R, Deputy Head Boy Luke G, and Deputy Head Girls Mylie G and Leanna H laid a wreath at the Omagh Cenotaph in honour of all who gave their lives in service and sacrifice. Retirement Celebrations
At the end of September, we said farewell to two highly valued members of staff here at Omagh High School, Mr W. Quigley and Mrs G. Quigley. Mrs Quigley devoted 38 years of outstanding service to Omagh High School and was a deeply respected and cherished colleague throughout her time here. Farm Tour at AFBI Hillsborough
On Wednesday 1st October, our Year 12 GCSE Agriculture & Land Use class had the exciting opportunity to attend a Schools Open Day at the Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute (AFBI) Hillsborough. Students explored key areas of modern farming, including soil health, grassland management, and anaerobic digestion.
