McKee Cup Match Report: Omagh High School v Devenish College

Omagh High School produced an excellent all-round display to record an impressive victory over Devenish College in the McKee Cup.

The hosts made a bright start and were rewarded with an early breakthrough when Daniel O found the net to give Omagh a deserved 1–0 lead. Devenish College responded well and created several opportunities of their own, but goalkeeper Jake D was in outstanding form, making a number of excellent saves to preserve Omagh’s advantage. Thanks to his efforts between the posts, the home side went into the interval with a 1–0 lead.

With the benefit of the wind in the second half, Omagh quickly took control of the contest. Jackie L doubled the advantage with a superb strike from outside the box, giving the Devenish goalkeeper no chance.

The Omagh attack continued to flourish, with Jackie L getting his second of the day, and Thomas H adding another goal with an excellent long-range effort. Thomas then turned provider, producing a fine assist for Tyler H, who finished confidently to extend the lead further.

Omagh continued to press forward and were rewarded again when Martin L rounded off the scoring with a well-taken goal, completing the victory.

It was a strong all-round team performance from all the boys.
