On Tuesday 25th March, Omagh High School took on Devenish College in the McMullan Shield. In the first half of the match, Omagh High School created numerous openings but failed to take their chances. The second half started in a similar fashion. Mihail Z was unlucky not to open the scoring with his shot coming back off the inside of the post and away to safety. Meanwhile, Devenish also created opportunities of their own, but the back five (J Davis, Daniel W, Zackary L, Oliver D and Renato M) kept them at bay. With both teams needing a victory, it was an all-out attack with ten minutes remaining. When it looked like the game was going to finish a draw, up stepped Tyler H with a goal worthy of winning any game. From 35 yards out, Tyler unleashed a dipping volley that flew over the Devenish goalkeeper and into the net.
After pleasing draws in their previous games, it was rewarding for Omagh High School to pick up the win.
This group have made such pleasing progress this year and they should be extremely proud of their endeavours.
