Senior Girls Hockey vs ERGS

The Senior Girls got their season underway on Monday with an encouraging performance against ERGS. Although the final score was 2–0 to the visitors, the result did not reflect the competitiveness of the game.

ERGS struck twice in the opening five minutes, but Omagh High responded superbly. The girls held their own for the remainder of the match, creating several excellent opportunities and coming close to equalising on a number of occasions, only to be denied by some outstanding goalkeeping.

The midfield and forwards worked tirelessly throughout, while the defence remained solid and disciplined, regularly stepping forward to support attacks and keep the pressure on the opposition.

A special mention goes to our Year 11 debutants, Abbie A, Abbey R, Grace A and Emilia Q, who all impressed in their first senior appearances. Congratulations also to Sophia M, who made her debut as goalkeeper.

Excellent leadership and performances were provided by our Sixth Form players Molly, Erin, Annabel, Jessica, Aquilina and Sarah, while Scarlett, Jessica, Ann-Louise and Lucy made a significant impact for Year 12.

A very promising start to the season, with plenty of positives to take forward into the next fixture. Well done, girls!
