On Thursday 23/01/25 the Under 16 rugby team faced St Patrick’s High School Keady in the knockout stages of the Ulster High School Shield. OHS got off to a bright start with excellent work from Captain Matthew McF to steal the ball and set up an opening try for Jack C which he also converted. Omagh quickly got a second try by Ben C to leave the score 12-0. St Patrick’s then scored a breakaway try, followed soon after the break with another, to leave the score 12-12. Omagh High dug deep and continued to press the opposition try line and Matthew McF got the ball over the line for Omagh’s third. Keady would not give up and duly scored their third try of the game to leave the score 17-15 going into the final stages. This however was to be the last try that Keady would score as Omagh High took control of the game scoring two more tries through a charging Lewis S and Reuben L. The boys now await their opponents in the last 16 of the competition.
Well done boys.
