World Cup Tournament

On Thursday 4th June 2026 15 teams from Primary Schools in the Omagh area competed for the top prize in a World Cup tournament on Campsie Playing Fields inspired by this summer’s FIFA men’s competition in USA, Canada and Mexico. Competing Primary Schools included Omagh County, Augher, Gortin, Langfield, Gibson, Dromore and Denamona. The tournament was organised by the Community Links Development Committee of Omagh High School ably assisted by Mrs Pauley’s Year 11 GCSE P.E. group who were absolutely fantastic on the day.  At the closing stages of a highly competitive and pulsating tournament, two teams remained to battle it out in the final to win the coveted trophy. Gibson Primary School emerged as victors, defeating Omagh County in the final.

A huge thank you to all of the competitors on the day, to the Community Links Committee members as well as Mr Beattie and to our Year 11 GCSE P.E. group, without whom none of this would have been possible. Thank you also to the canteen staff at Omagh High School for catering for the event.
