🏉 Under 16 Rugby 🏉
On Wednesday 19th November, Omagh High School made the trip to Limavady High School to play their final group stage game in Pool 5. The boys played some excellent rugby in the first half, taking them into a commanding position going into the second period. The game followed a similar pattern in the second half, with OHS being extremely dominant in all departments and eventually winning the game 43-0. Remembrance Day 2025 at Omagh High School
Omagh High School marked Remembrance Day with a poignant assembly centred on the theme “Remembering All Together.” Our entire school community contributed by creating paper poppies for a stunning display, each inscribed with personal reflections on remembrance. Future Climate Leaders in Action!
With COP30 taking place in Brazil this month, our Year 14 Geographers, Millie S and Blake D, stepped into the global spotlight at Belfast Castle. They joined over 80 students from 28 schools for a full simulation of the international climate change conference. Representing Egypt as part of the Developing Nations, both students showed incredible skill in negotiating and lobbying for deals to reduce global warming. U16 Girls’ Netball Team
Our U16 girls’ netball team travelled to Sacred Heart College on Friday 14th November for the Shield Final. The girls played brilliantly, showing fantastic skill and determination, and finished in 2nd place! Huge congratulations to Sacred Heart College on becoming well-deserved champions. Year 8 Trip to Scarlett Thread Exhibition – St Columba’s Church, Omagh
Our Year 8 students had a fantastic visit to the Scarlett Thread exhibition at St Columba’s Church of Ireland in Omagh. They explored the stories behind the books of the Bible and admired the incredible craftsmanship on display, each piece representing a different book in a creative and thoughtful way. Remembrance Sunday
Representatives from our school community Head Boy Dillon E, Head Girl Sarah R, Deputy Head Boy Luke G, and Deputy Head Girls Mylie G and Leanna H laid a wreath at the Omagh Cenotaph in honour of all who gave their lives in service and sacrifice. Harvest Assembly
We had a truly wonderful morning celebrating the harvest season, with the event thoughtfully organised by Mrs. Busby and Crevenagh House. The stage was beautifully adorned with a vibrant display of harvest-themed decorations for everyone to admire. We welcomed representatives from Women's Aid, Omagh Hospital Road Community Centre, St Vincent de Paul, and Care for Cancer, who received food bag donations generously contributed by our students. Retirement Celebrations
At the end of September, we said farewell to two highly valued members of staff here at Omagh High School, Mr W. Quigley and Mrs G. Quigley.
