Well done to Year 9 student Codi G, who braved tough weather conditions yesterday to compete in the Minor Girls category at the Ulster Schools’ Cross Country Championships at Mallusk Playing Fields. We also want to wish her all the best this Saturday as she represents her club in Dublin’s indoor athletics arena, taking on the 800m, long jump, high jump and the relay!

A huge well done to Codi G in Year 9 who took place in NI and Ulster Indoor Athletics Championships on Saturday 21st February, held in Sports Ireland in Dublin. Codi competed in the 800m run, the long jump and the high jump. Codi also took part in the Strabane Triathlon 5K held in Lifford on Sunday 22nd February, where she finished 3rd in her age group. Well done on your excellent sporting achievements Codi!

Year 10 pupil Maddie S and Year 8 pupils Lexi A and Emily W competed for Omagh Panthers on Saturday at the Millenium Forum in Belfast. Maddie’s team came first in their section and Lexi and Emily’s team came second. Very well done girls!

Parents and carers are being invited to attend a series of information sessions about the Strule Shared Education Campus , taking place on Tuesday 17 th  February  at the Silverbirch Hotel . The sessions will provide the opportunity to find out more about the Strule campus, ask questions, and view the floor plans for each of the schools and shared buildings that will be based on the campus. Omagh High School Prizegiving 20 th January 2026 Mrs I Clarke, Chairperson of our Board of Governors at Omagh High School, opened the prize giving ceremony by welcoming students, staff, parents and the guest speaker, Mr R Beattie, president of the Young Farmers’ Clubs of Ulster since April 2024.   Principal Mr Gaitatzis opened by praising the outstanding achievements of pupils and highlighted the dedication, effort and resilience behind their success. Our Year 11 History group attended a seminar on the topic of the Holocaust at the Silver Birch Hotel, Omagh. The theme to mark Holocaust Memorial Day in 2026 was ‘Bridging Generations’. The guest speaker at the event was Seymour Kelly who spoke passionately about his mother, Lushka Kelly (née Klapholz), a Holocaust survivor originally from Southern Poland. Pupils learned of how Lushka’s village was occupied by the Nazis in 1939 and how she and her family was forced to move to

The WHSS visited our Year 10 pupils to deliver an important session on healthy relationships. The workshop was engaging, informative, and incredibly valuable for everyone involved. Thank‑you to WHSS for supporting our pupils with such an important topic.

We were delighted to welcome students from Augher Central PS, Carntall PS, Langfield PS, and Kesh PS for a fun-filled taster day at Omagh High School.  We hope you all had an amazing time exploring everything we have to offer!

Our Scripture Union group had a wonderful time spreading Christmas cheer at Hillcrest Care Facility! 🎄❤️  We sang carols, shared some festive favourites, and ended with a lovely rendition of Auld Lang Syne.  Thank you so much for having us!

✨ 🎄 We held our annual Christmas Clothing Day! 🎄✨  Students and staff swapped items of clothing for a charitable donation and it definitely got us all into the festive spirit for our Christmas quiz.  Don’t they look amazing? (Even the Grinches look the part!👌)

Everyone’s favourite day in the OHS canteen… Christmas Dinner Day! 🎄🍽️  Our brilliant canteen staff put on a feast that looked and tasted incredible. Let’s just say there were plenty of satisfied customers. Doesn’t it look great?

What a wonderful Christmas Carol Service we had! 🎶✨ From musical performances to thoughtful readings, our students reminded us of the true message of Christmas. Thank you to 1st Omagh Presbyterian for welcoming us and to Mr Rennie, Miss Smith, Mr Linton and all other staff for making everything run so smoothly…and thank you to all of our wonderful participants! 🌟  Our pupils were a credit to the school with their outstanding behaviour throughout.
